Canes In-School

The Carolina Hurricanes are excited to offer in-school programs free of charge. These programs equip students with basic hockey game-play knowledge and fundamental skill instruction. The Canes have hosted programs in a number of elementary schools in the area for the past several years and have had considerable success in teaching the sport of hockey to students.

Mission: Improving the accessibility and inclusivity of hockey through an enhanced program experience, while promoting a healthy lifestyle for all.

Program Summary:

  • Carolina Hurricanes provide hockey instruction to students in standard P.E. classes in Wake County and surrounding school districts
  • Carolina Hurricanes donate  all equipment for the clinics (sticks, balls, goals, Canes pinnies)
  • Provides a program that uses our brand to help teach good sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership and responsibility
  • The program provides skills and game instruction to both the kids and teachers
  • This program is FREE
  • No players from the Carolina Hurricanes will be in attendance for the in-school program. But a promotional item will be given to all students in your school!
  • Program must be ran for 2-3 weeks during the school year
